Past District Governor Don Max Vars-A Celebration of Life and Lions
July 17, 1938-October 27, 2024
For 60 years, Don Max was a beacon of inspiration and service within the Canyon Lions and the Lions community. Over the decades, Don Max held numerous roles including President of Canyon Lions Club and later as a District Governor of 2-T1. These positions not only underscored his leadership capabilities, but also reflected the trust and respect of his fellow Lions.
His most noticeable accomplishments as a Lion were being awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship and being a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. This speaks volumes about his past contributions, service and his commitment to Lionism. He also received the prestigious International President Leadership Medal affirming his influence and effective leadership within the Lion’s community.
His leadership and mentorship inspired many Lions and equipped them with tools to be active members of our great Club. As you reflect on Don Max's contributions, remember that true leadership is not merely about titles and awards, but rather the enduring impact that one has on others.
Don Max was not just a Lion; he was a legacy with a true heart for Lionism. Please remember Past District Governor Lila Vars and their family in your thoughts and prayers.
